Friday Showing

I heard on the Diane Rehm, NPR radio program the other day from the current Poet Laureate for the US of A, and a teacher of poetry at a college, Billy Collins,

that the big failure of so many starting poets is that they are in effect arrogant when they assume that the reader is interested in their internal thoughts and tribulations on just about anything.

Aside from having a bit easier to remember address on the net, the quality of the undertaking is better. The improvement that you may notice starting today, comes from experience and personal reflection only. I am still looking for one or two interested people who could give some occasional feedback as well.

I have realized that along with my thoughts which I try to improve every day and which are OK to let slip in the course of writing naturally, Friday Showing needed more careful editing and that the sexy magazine style graphics are not reliable and subject to unchosen changes after published.

Never-the-less almost 1,800 people including one yesterday, were kind enough to click the like button up to date. That number continues to rise even since the magazine has not updated during the Summer. I suspect that no one is really quite sure what that means at least I don’t see it as discouraging.

Please one more internal type thought in these paragraphs: It would be really encouraging if those 1,800 folks knew of the new address and along with some of their friends they chose to re-visit.

The point is that everything posted is better edited and will be better archived for the future. Friday Showing 2, includes some items already posted on Friday Showing or fb. It still is a lively mix.
